Alberta Mounted Shooters Association Schedule - 2021/2022 Season

NEW FOR 2022!!!!   AMSA Rising Star Class!

The Rising Star Class is a category specifically for horses that are ready for more than a Time-Only, in order to add more competitive urgency into their training for competition.  This will be a separate class, with separate pay-outs.  AMSA will also tally a separate set of results and crown the 2022 Rising Star Award at the end of the season.  The rules are as follows:

  • Rising Stars will be competing only against other Rising Stars
  • The rider must have entered the Main Match with a separate Main Match Horse, and Rising Star entry fees are in addition to Main Match
  • No limit to the number of Rising Star entries per rider
  • Open to any horse that has not competed in any shooting event prior to April 1, 2022
  • If this category turns out to have an overabundance of entries, AMSA reserves the right to limit the number of entries based on timing and schedule of the venue, and shoot schedule
  • AMSA will ensure that riders complete their Main Match run prior to running in the Rising Star category
  • This will not be an official CMSA class, therefore will not be included on the CMSA website during registration of entries.  Manual entries will be taken by the AMSA Show Secretary during Shoot Registration
